Citizens' safety and health are the priorities in the executive authorities’ activities during the epidemic. One of the tasks is to inform citizens in a timely manner about the recommended actions to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. And the most convenient way to provide information is a mobile phone.

Therefore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Health appealed to mobile operators to send out informational messages to their subscribers.

There have already been two such mass texting - for all subscribers of operators, and for subscribers who were in roaming in countries where numerous cases of coronavirus infection were detected. The Government plans to continue using this handy tool that allows citizens to be informed in a timely manner about how to comply with the rules introduced during the quarantine.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, during such texting no personal data of subscribers are disclosed or transferred to state bodies. "The Ministry of Digital Transformation only determines the number of people whom such an SMS should be sent (for example, subscribers who have been in roaming in certain countries), and the operator independently, according to the available data, does such mass texting," explains the Deputy Prime Minister.
