Nearly 82,000 families receive child care benefits for children aged under one

On January 1, a law came into effect in Ukraine that increased a number of “child-related” benefits and significantly strengthened support for families. Its goal is not only to provide financial assistance to parents but also to create conditions that allow them to balance child-rearing with work.

Nearly 82,000 families are already receiving monthly child care benefits for children under one year of age—UAH 7,000, or UAH 10,500 for families raising a child with a disability.

Almost 18,000 families have already received a one-time payment of UAH 50,000 upon the birth of a child.

For working parents, there is the eYasla program—a monthly allowance of UAH 8,000 (UAH 12,000 for families with children with disabilities). Currently, it has already been granted to nearly 4,000 recipients.

Another important support tool is assistance related to pregnancy and childbirth. This payment has been granted to nearly 13,000 women. It amounts to UAH 7,000, which are paid for each month the medical certificate for “Pregnancy and Childbirth” is valid.

One can apply for these payments in person at branches of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Centres for Administrative Services Provision, or through authorized community representatives.

Through the eMaliatko service, one can currently apply for childbirth assistance and receive the Baby Box.

At the same time, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is working to make these types of payments available in the Diia app as soon as possible.
