The issue of providing equal rights and opportunities for women and men is a fundamental task for the Government of Ukraine. In September 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the National Action Plan for the implementation of the recommendations set out in the concluding comments of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, that stipulates for a slew of measures to resolve the burning problems  of inequality of women and men. The document takes into account absolutely all spheres of social, economic and political life, envisages active steps to develop ways to ensure and continue to support equality and non-discrimination, prevention of domestic violence and gender-based violence, education of tolerance and mutual respect.

At present, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine analyzes information provided by ministries, other central executive authorities, regional state administrations on the implementation of measures envisaged by the National Plan for 2018. It can be said with certainty that a great amount of work has already been done in the areas of social assistance and support, education, health care, employment and decent working, leisure and sports, security and defense sector

The Ministry is assured that this tendency will further continue.
