Monitoring of the quality of road repairs and construction is becoming an integral part of the large-scale road infrastructure restoring process initiated by the Government two years ago. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government sitting.
"We have unprecedented amount of work across the country. Now it's crucial to secure quality. And here the responsibility of the Government and regional structures (relevant departments) and local authorities is obvious. I commission to analyze this work", said Volodymyr Groysman.
He emphasized that responsibility for poor performance of duties would not be shrunk.
"If you have completed work and left something not finished, just get things done and put the object into service in line with the standards. If there is abuse, the responsibility is inescapable. Information will be made public. Those who presume to work with variances, and apart from that resort to false reporting - the names of such companies will be disclosed to the public. I will appeal to law enforcement agencies. Those responsible will be liable", added the Head of Government.
He offered Interior Minister Arsen Avakov to join the process of monitoring the quality of road repair and construction activities. The PM reminded that in the current year the Government had allotted significant financing for the road sector, provided for operation of the Road Fund. "No one has granted the right to plunder or dispose of the funds inefficiently. Control and quality come to the fore. We will ensure the quality be up to the standard", emphasized Volodymyr Groysman. "I count on relevant actions on the part of law enforcement bodies".
The Head of Government also commissioned the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Fiscal Service and the Accounting Chamber to join efforts, choose 3-4 objects to conduct an inspection. "If there are deviations (from building norms), then it will bring up a question of a just punishment," accentuated Volodymyr Groysman.
