Heads of diplomatic missions inspected the aftermath of the russian attack on the night of 7 September
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, together with Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, briefed 60 heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine on the consequences of one of the largest russian air attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion, which occurred on the night of 7 September.
The heads of diplomatic missions were shown the floors of the Cabinet of Ministers building damaged by the russian attack, where efforts to address the aftermath are ongoing, with roof repairs set to begin soon.
“Yesterday’s attack marks a new phase of the war, with the enemy effectively doubling the number of drones used in strikes on civilians and energy infrastructure ahead of winter, systematically targeting businesses, and now aiming at state institutions. This is a clear signal that russia does not want peace and openly mocks the diplomatic efforts of the civilised world,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.
She described the conflict as an existential war, noting that among those killed yesterday were a two-year-old child and a young mother.
“russians are killing our children, and thus our future. We are grateful to all diplomats; your presence here this morning is a sign of support for us in our fight for the survival of our state,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.
