With its decision Government appoints Ihor Klymenko to lead elimination of consequences of hydroelectric power plant dam blast

During an extraordinary meeting on June 6, the Government adopted a number of decisions in connection with the blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam by russia. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"Today, russia has committed a crime by blowing up the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. This act of terrorism is a horrendous catastrophe and tragedy that resonates not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe and around the world. We condemn this atrocity as a war crime and ecocide committed by russian terrorists," the Head of Government stressed.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko has been appointed to lead the work on the liquidation of the consequences of the hydroelectric power plant dam explosion. In addition, the Government has set up an appropriate headquarters, which will include ministers, their deputies, heads of central executive bodies and representatives of state-owned enterprises.
