The arrears of payments to IDPs must be repaid immediately. This was stated by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, during a meeting of the Coordination Centre for IDPs.

IDPs should not suffer because of disagreements between individual responsible agencies. Delayed payments create social tension. People should receive their housing allowance payments on time. This is the only source of income for many of them, the Deputy Prime Minister urges.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Finance together with the Ministry of Social Policy was instructed to work on amendments to the relevant budget programme to ensure that internally displaced persons receive social payments during the second payment period.
