The state should give IDPs an impetus to build a new life. This was stressed by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, during a live broadcast on Rada TV channel.
She noted that the Government had recently approved the Strategy of State Policy on Internal Displacement until 2025. This strategy takes into account the experience of the first year of the full-scale war.
The official also noted a change in priorities: while last year the focus was on evacuation and stabilisation, now the emphasis is on community integration and preparation for return.
“The strategy sets out a roadmap for state and local authorities to follow. IDPs need to feel that they are not alone. They need to feel the shoulder of the state. The state should give them an impetus to build a new life,” concluded Iryna Vereshchuk.
