  • Iryna Vereshchuk: Authorities are developing an algorithm for evacuating people from areas around the ZNPP

A meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law was held chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

The meeting was attended by representatives of regional military administrations, Ukrzaliznytsia and others.

The participants discussed the plan of action of the central and local executive authorities in the event of an accident at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

They focused on the evacuation of civilians to safer areas. First and foremost, this includes the evacuation of children, the elderly and persons with reduced mobility.

Representatives of the regional military administrations reported on preparations for the evacuation of civilians. At the same time, representatives of host communities reported on their readiness to receive evacuees.

In particular, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed Ukrzaliznytsia and the regional military administrations to identify the most appropriate routes for evacuation.

“We are at war. Therefore, we must be prepared for any development. Our actions must be clear and coordinated,” Iryna Vereshchuk emphasised.
