  • Iryna Vereshchuk visits psychosocial assistance center in Bucha

Today, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk paid a working visit to Bucha.

Its residents have experienced the horrors of war, and they need psychological rehabilitation to return to normal life. Back in June 2022, 2 months after the liberation of Bucha, a Psychological Assistance Center was opened here.

The institution currently operates as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program under the patronage of First Lady Olena Zelenska.

Currently, the Center consists of a team of 13 psychologists who provide assistance to released captives and their relatives, as well as to those who survived the occupation.

“It is important that the Bucha Psychological Assistance Center was organized by Ukrainian specialists. I am grateful to the volunteer psychologists who initiated the creation of this center, as well as to the Bucha City Council and international donors for their support. This is the first experimental Ukrainian project that will lay the foundation for the development of psychological services in other liberated communities,” said Iryna Vereshchuk.
