
Iryna Vereshchuk chairs meeting of Coordination Headquarters for IDPs
A meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons was held, chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pension Fund, Oschadbank, regional military administrations (RMAs), and other agencies and organisations.
Among other issues, participants discussed the payment of housing allowances to IDPs and the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On the implementation of a pilot project to introduce a comprehensive social service for building resilience”.
Participants also discussed the process of establishing IDP councils at local authorities. Applications are currently being accepted from those wishing to join such councils in Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad RMAs and the Kyiv City Military Administration.
The IDP councils will contribute to the implementation of regional policy on internally displaced persons. In particular, their adaptation and integration into host communities.
