We must jointly ensure the needs of IDPs are met. This was stated by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, during a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for Ensuring and Implementing the Rights and Freedoms of IDPs.
The meeting's participants discussed the development of regional targeted programmes to support internally displaced persons. Currently, several regions already have a programme in place.
They also addressed the progress of the development of a regulatory act that will define the criteria and procedure for the functioning of compact settlements.
The interlocutors also considered the possibility of providing additional assistance to vulnerable groups of people evacuated from the areas where active hostilities are taking place. International donors are currently working on ways to provide them with financial assistance.
"We must provide the displaced people with everything they need. In particular, they should be provided with free accommodation and social guarantees!" said Iryna Vereshchuk.
