Iryna Vereshchuk: 2.7 million internally displaced people have already received financial aid from international benefactors
About 2.7 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine received multi-purpose cash assistance. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, almost USD 600 million have been distributed to satisfy the needs of these people.
Such data were voiced at the interdepartmental meeting dedicated to the problematic issues of IDPs, which was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
"Millions of Ukrainians have received the status of IDPs. We have to take care of every family that was forced to leave their homes, trying to save themselves and their children. We are very grateful to international humanitarian organizations for their help and hope that our citizens will not be left without such assistance in the future!" emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
Representatives of international humanitarian organizations present at the meeting informed about their plans to grow the total amount of aid up to USD 1.72 billion dollars for 6.3 million Ukrainians by the end of December.
