Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz proposes the families of the fallen to involve in shaping the draft law on the status of veterans of war. This was announced by Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz during a meeting of the Council of Veterans of the War.

The Minister briefed  the members of the Ukrainian Veterans Council that in the Ministry for Veterans Affairs a group of experts with the participation of lawyers of NGO "Legal Hundreds", representatives of the line committee of the Verkhovna Rada and representatives of the project office under the Ministry of Veterans is actively working on the new bill. This law should clearly identify the status of veteran of the war in Ukraine.

The Minister also noted that this law will clearly specify the issue of social assistance to the families of the fallen. Therefore, she firstly asks the families of the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine to join the discussion.

"This will enable us to effectively form a single register of veterans. The work on the draft is underway. Then, a public discussion together with the veterans as well as with the families of the victims will be held, and only after that, this document will be shaped", the Minister Iryna Friz underscored.
