Minister for Veterans Affairs Iryna Friz spoke with a former United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert A. McDonald.

"I think that consideration and implementation of successful foreign practices in shaping state policy for veterans is one of the priorities in the work of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine," Iryna Friz stressed and added that one of the key indicators of the effective work of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs United States is high the quality of service provision.

 "That is why we need to establish strategic communication between our authorities for exchange of experience and programs," the Minister stated.

The sides also touched upon the main goals and priority tasks for the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine as well as the creation of a single state register of veterans and ways to improve the system of medical care of veterans.

As a result, the parties agreed to discuss further steps for cooperation during a personal meeting in Ukraine at the end of this summer.
