Investment, primarily government investment, in the development of the agricultural sector, including in the segment of farming, means investment in the development of the state as a whole. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a visit of the International exhibition "Agro-2018" in Kyiv. This is the largest thematic exhibition of the year, which has over 10 line expositions and gathered more than 1,200 participants from 15 countries.

The Head of Government toured the exposition, talked to representatives of enterprises, farms and emphasized that the agro-complex had long gained the status of the driving engine for the economy of Ukraine.

"One fifth of products manufactured in Ukraine is produced in the agrocomplex. New technologies, mechanisms in the agrisector make our country stronger. Three million people (employed in the agrarian domain) perform their work scrupulously and ensure harvests delivered to Ukrainian and international consumers", said Volodymyr Groysman.

He stressed that this year the Government had launched an unprecedented program of support for the agricultural sector, primarily for farmers and small farms. It is about supporting the livestock - from UAH 1.5 to 2.5 thousand per animal - depending on the size of the facility, cheapening of the construction of livestock breeding complexes, development of horticulture and seed farming.

"All this means our investments in the development of Ukraine, our dominant positions in international markets", said Volodymyr Groysman. "I assure that a strong farmer means a strong state. We have a strong and great future. I pledge support for you (agrarians)".

Within the framework of the exhibition, the Head of Government took part in the signing of documents on the transfer of agricultural land outside the settlements to the disposal of the amalgamated territorial communities. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the land transfer process technically started in February this year, and now a third of the communities have received land. The total amount of transferred lands exceeds 360 thousand hectares.
