September 25, the State Emergency Service received information that an AN-26Sh aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had crashed near the military airport near Chuhuiv and caught on fire. At 9:53 p.m., the fire was extinguished.
A total of 27 people were on board the plane: 7 crew members and 20 cadets. As a result of the catastrophe on September 25, 25 people died, 1 person died in hospital on September 26 and 1 person got injured and was staying in hospital.
During September 26, SES units searched for the bodies of the victims, cut the elements of the fuselage and provided psychological assistance to the relatives of the victims.
70 persons of SES personnel and 10 units of machinery and equipment were involved in the activities.
Currently, the SES units have completed their work. Investigative actions are being carried out.
