Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Luboš Veselý.

The Minister noted that Czechia has recently joined the Civil Protection Shelters Coalition for Ukraine. Preparations are already under way for the implementation of the first joint project – the construction of a shelter in Dnipropetrovsk region. Ihor Klymenko stressed that this is an important contribution to strengthening the safety of communities that face the threat of russian attacks on a daily basis.

The parties also paid particular attention to airspace security and countering the unlawful use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukraine has already gained unique practical experience in this field and is ready to deepen cooperation with partners in addressing emerging security challenges.

An important outcome of the meeting was Czechia’s readiness to implement summer recreation and rehabilitation programmes for the children of Ukraine’s defenders. The initiative will cover the children of fallen Heroes, prisoners of war, and those whose parents are currently carrying out combat missions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.

“I am grateful to the Czech Republic for its support of Ukraine. It is especially valuable when partnership is translated into concrete actions – from strengthening community safety to supporting the families of our defenders,” Ihor Klymenko concluded.
