It is at the level of the host community that social adaptation and further integration of internally displaced persons should be ensured. This was emphasized by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, during her working visit to Rivne region.
The leadership of the Rivne Regional Military Administration reported that the region admitted internally displaced persons every day. In particular, the region has provided shelter for orphans and children deprived of parental care who were evacuated from the hottest spots of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
At the same time, the region is working to attract donor assistance for the arrangement of new potential places of compact residence.
After providing IDPs with housing, it is important to create conditions for their employment, the Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories is convinced. As of today, 750 IDPs have been employed in the region with the assistance of the employment service.
"We have to intensify measures to support employment and self-employment of internally displaced persons. This is a key condition for their socialization and integration in the host community. After psychological adaptation, we need to focus on employment. This issue should be addressed at the regional level. In particular, local authorities should facilitate business relocation," emphasized Iryna Vereshchuk.
