24 Ukrainians under the age of 25 became the winners of the youth component of the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) grant programme in the second wave of 2025. They will receive UAH 3.3 million to start their businesses. A total of 137 young entrepreneurs have received a positive decision to receive grants since the programme's launch. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.
"Already 137 young Ukrainians have become winners of the Vlasna Sprava grant programme and will receive UAH 20 million to start their businesses. Through grants, we support young people who want to realise their potential in entrepreneurship and help them create their startups. Young entrepreneurs are ready to develop their business in a variety of areas. In particular, the winners of the second wave plan to use the grant to open a mini-bakery, a coffee shop, a recording studio, a garden centre, launch English language courses, a rock climbing club, provide agricultural machinery repair, photography and video shooting, and accounting services," said Tetiana Berezhna.
The majority of grantees of the second wave of the programme in 2025 are young people from Kyiv as well as Kyiv, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Among them, 58% are women and 42% are men.
As a reminder, under the terms of the Vlasna Sprava grant programme for young people, Ukrainians aged 18 to 25 can apply for a microgrant of up to UAH 150,000 to start a business. They must register as an individual entrepreneur after receiving a positive decision on the grant. They are not required to create jobs.
Within three years, the entrepreneur must repay the grant amount in the form of taxes and fees paid to the budget in the course of business activities. After that, he or she can receive another grant from the state - under the Vlasna Sprava programme on general terms and conditions in the amount of up to UAH 250,000 and an obligation to create at least 2 jobs.
The grant funds can be spent on the purchase or leasing of equipment, the purchase of raw materials and supplies, and the rental of premises. Applications for grants are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. The programme is administered by the State Employment Service.
