Two weeks ago, during a working trip to Zaporizhia region, the Prime Minister commissioned the Motor Roads Service to prepare and announce a tender for the selection of a contractor for the construction of a bridge across the Dnipro River in Zaporizhia. The tender has been announced today.
"This bridge should finally solve the acute transport problem in Zaporizhia. It has been accumulating for years because the bridge could not be completed. Today a real step has been made. I hope real work will start in the spring to connect with the traffic artery the left and right banks of the Dnipro," stressed Oleksiy Honcharuk.
Once the winner is determined, the construction of the first stage of the facility will commence, and it is scheduled to complete in a few years.
The first stage of construction includes 21 artificial structures, including two bridges over the Dnipro River connecting the Coast Main Line and Soborny Avenue.
"Ahead is a significant share of work. The responsibility of Ukravtodor and the Ministry of Infrastructure is high. But I believe that they will manage," said Oleksiy Honcharuk, adding that the international tender is an opportunity to ensure its transparency and efficiency.
It’s worth noting here, that introducing the new head of Ukavtodor Olexandr Kubrakov, the Prime Minister named the construction of the Zaporizhia bridge one of the most critical infrastructure projects.
