Within the framework of the education reform launched by the Government Ukraine is committed to the two core objectives- access to education and quality. This statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the All-Ukrainian August Conference of Educators "New Ukrainian School: Start of the Reform, Participation of the Communities". The Head of Government stressed that economic success can be achieved when intellectual potential is supported and new standards of education relevant for the 21st century are introduced.
"Accessibility and quality are two key challenges facing education, Volodymyr Groysman emphasized. We need to create a system - from early childhood to high school, in order for us to get a competent citizen. We need to raise the economy, but we will not achieve this without intellectual capital".
The Prime Minister stressed that accessibility encapsulates a wide range of issues from liquidation of queues in kindergartens to the introduction of new teaching technologies and he added that both local and central authorities allocate substantial funding for these purposes.
"Today, we have transferred efficient resources to the regions in the framework of the decentralization, and we demand that these funds be reinvested in education and well-being", Volodymyr Groysman said.
He placed a special emphasis on the issue of educators salaries. "The prestige of educational work is an unconditional priority. That is why, as soon as we have financial capabilities, we will invest in education. We will support a New Ukrainian School", the Head of Government underscored.
According to him, educational reform is one of the most far-reaching. The first results will be felt only in 12 year but it is important that today impetus is given to these changes.
"Of course, someone can help and provide assistance, but everything is entirely in our hands. Thus, education is of paramount importance. I am grateful to my teachers. Having an opportunity to be involved in the creation of the fate of people is the gift from the God. So, I wish what teachers put into students will be returned many times over", the Prime Minister underscored.
