
Prime Minister on road industry: It is important to implement a common strategy for reconstruction of both national and district roads
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman initiates formulation of strategies for the development of local roads, inter alia in district centers in accordance with the goals and objectives of the national strategy for the development of the road industry for 2018-2022 years. Prime Minister announced during the Government sitting at which one of the agenda items was the summing up of preliminary results of the current season of road works and past seasons was considered.
"We all are road users. We have many roads that need to be repaired. Over a period of 2016-2019 we have built 6800 km. We shaped a clear plan and began to implement it. By 2021 we will connect all regional centers. And what is important? To have a single strategy - with cities and small settlements. The game plan is to ensure that citizens can drive and walk along good roads and ensure good road connection between cities and small settlements. This is the strategy for us to be implemented", Volodymyr Groysman said.
The Head of Government stressed that he completely understands people who complain about poor roads.
Volodymyr Groysman placed a special emphasis on the fact that he doesn’t turn a blind eye to the problem of bad roads. The Prime Minister also emphasized that this problem will be shortly resolved and he added that new roads such as Kviv-Ternopil, Ternopil-Khmelnitskiy, Odesa-Reni have been already built. Road works are carried out in Vinnytsia, Cherkassy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
