German Galushchenko had an urgent telephone conversation with the U.S. Secretary of Energy regarding the shelling of ZNPP

Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko had an urgent telephone conversation with U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm about the situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNNP).

The Minister said that Russian troops were shelling ZNPP from the air and tanks.

"There is a fire at the station and it can be the biggest catastrophe in the history of mankind! The occupiers do not allow firefighters to enter the station. I urged to prevent a nuclear catastrophe and close the flight zone over Ukraine," German Galushchenko said.

Moreover, the Minister on his Facebook page noted that the aggressor continues to inflict devastating blows on Ukraine.

"Nuclear and radiation safety of the enemy is not a concern. He is indifferent to the human lives of Ukrainians, Europeans and their own citizens.

We have been trying to convey this thesis to the International Atomic Energy Agency for several days now. We demanded the intervention of this international organization and tough decisions regarding the aggressor. But they are not there yet.

Therefore, we demand not only a professional assessment of what is happening, but also real intervention, taking the toughest measures, including by NATO and the countries that possess nuclear weapons," German Galushchenko said.
