Competition "Best Practices of Local Self-Government" being held for the fifth year in a row together with the Council of Europe should become a trend for each consolidated community. The leadership is formed and Ukrainians see efficient changes in their regions due to such projects. Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko claimed during awarding of the winners of the "Best Practices of Local Self-Government" competition.
"I congratulate our 34 finalists of the competition, which managed to demonstrate and implement the best projects. I am convinced that these people will shape the future, the victory of such communities and leaders who today effectively lead the communities, and tomorrow will come to the state authorities. And the experience of implementation of reforms in regions will work be successfully applied at the state level ", Hennadii Zubko stressed.
The Vice Prime Minister placed a special emphasis on the criteria by which the contestants are evaluated. It’s innovation, creativity, or the best examples of transparency, women's involvement and infrastructure development. "Therefore, the community must be successful and demonstrate effective solutions and best practices in all areas. And the Council of Europe will assist in it. Moreover, it will accompany the community and help through the provision of the best practices of European countries ", he stressed.
The topics of the 2018 competition:
1. Development practices based on own strategies, projects, and resources.
2. Formation of a safe living environment.
3. Inclusiveness of regional and local development.
