The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the procedure for the functioning of the unified state electronic geoinformation system for subsoil use. The introduction of such a system is an important component of a major reform of the industry and a further step towards its full digitalisation.
The system will provide access to 17 databases and registers. These include the state subsoil fund of Ukraine, state registers of special permits, oil, gas and artesian wells, the state water cadastre, and the state geological web portal.
“The principle of ‘all resources and information in quick access on one platform’ will allow businesses to conduct their own surveys, select sites and make investment decisions without leaving the office. And the public will have open access to environmental data,” said Ruslan Strilets.
According to the Minister, this is important because attracting investment and developing sustainable subsoil use that is in balance with environmental protection is one of the priorities of the Government and the President. Our economy today and Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction tomorrow depend on it.
“Ukraine has chosen to work with the EU to achieve independence from russian resources and strengthen resource security. Together with the Ukrainian Geological Survey, we are striving and making every effort to become a full participant in the European strategy for the development of critical raw materials by 2030. And every decision in the industry brings our country closer to these goals,” said Ruslan Strilets.
