The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action will contribute EUR 54.3 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
This is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. In particular, the fruitful joint work of the heads of the ministries, German Galushchenko and Robert Habeck.
“Germany is a reliable friend and partner of Ukraine. The support of the German people, which we have felt since the first days of russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, is extremely important for the energy sector. We are grateful to Germany for this assistance and are working to further expand our energy partnership,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The funds will be provided as part of the expansion of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership to purchase energy equipment needed to restore and repair Ukrainian energy facilities.
As a reminder, Germany has already made the largest contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund of EUR 129.5 million. An additional EUR 20 million has been provided under the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership to finance the procurement and supply of technical equipment.
