Ukraine Energy Support Fund: Denmark to contribute EUR 4.7 million to restore power facilities in Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark will transfer an additional grant of about EUR 4.7 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to help restore critical energy infrastructure in the frontline Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions.
This brings the total amount of transferred and announced donor contributions to the Fund to over EUR 551 million.
“Denmark became the first sponsor of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund by contributing to the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector back in April 2022. We sincerely thank our partners for this unwavering position and continued support. It is especially needed in the frontline regions, where energy facilities are subjected to daily hostile attacks,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established at the joint initiative of German Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in spring 2022 and has become an effective tool to help Ukraine’s energy sector for more than 2 years.
Over the past few weeks, Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Austria have made contributions or declared their intentions to make contributions to the Fund.
