Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Farid Safarov discussed the implementation of the GTSOU (LLC Gas TSO of Ukraine) corporate reform with representatives of the World Bank and the Energy Community Secretariat.
During his visit to Vienna, Deputy Minister of Energy Farid Safarov, together with Dmytro Lypa, CEO of the GTSOU, held a series of meetings with representatives of the World Bank and the Energy Community Secretariat. The main topics of the meetings were the implementation of the corporate reform of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, the development of cooperation, the role of the GTS in the restoration of Ukraine and the future architecture of the European energy market. The parties also discussed the possibility of exporting biomethane and other initiatives to strengthen Ukraine's energy security.
"Successful corporate governance reform is a key to the development and stable operation of the sector, and we are grateful to our partners from the World Bank and the Energy Community for their cooperation and exchange of experience in implementing the reform," said Farid Safarov.
Also during the meeting with the Energy Community Secretariat, the parties updated the status of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and the functioning of the AidEnergy platform, which provides a transparent mechanism for interaction with donors and fuel and energy companies affected by the shelling to restore the stable operation of the energy sector.
Farid Safarov also met with representatives of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The parties discussed potential investment projects in the energy sector, in particular in the format of public-private partnership. Particularly noteworthy are projects to decentralise generation and renewable energy.
