    As a result of this year's fourth wave of applications for microgrants to start or develop private businesses, 290 Ukrainians will receive funds from the state totalling UAH 68.5 million. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna.

    "290 winners of this year's fourth wave of applications for microgrants to start or develop their business have been determined. They will receive UAH 68.5 million of grant funds for entrepreneurship from the state. Since the beginning of 2023, 906 Ukrainians will receive microgrants worth UAH 215 million following the results of four waves of the Own Business programme. In the process of realisation of their business ideas, they will create almost 2,000 new jobs with the grant funds," said Tetiana Berezhna.

    Among the recipients of the fourth wave of microgrants, 55% are women and 45% are men, and 70% of the winners have higher education. The majority of the shortlisted candidates are from Lviv (48 persons), Rivne (44 persons), Poltava (22 persons), Kyiv (21 persons) regions and the city of Kyiv (34 persons).

    The most popular sectors in which grantees will work are:

    - wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair - 95 persons;

    - temporary accommodation and catering - 39 persons;

    - processing industry - 36 persons.

    As a reminder, Ukrainians can receive a microgrant of UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000 under the Own Business grant programme. The funds can be used to purchase or lease equipment, purchase raw materials and supplies, and rent premises. Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no experience of such activities can receive a microgrant. A prerequisite for receiving funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs. Ukrainians who receive microgrants in 2022 will create about 8,000 new jobs.

    This year, UAH 1.8 billion has been budgeted for the Own Business programme, which will allow us to issue about 10,000 microgrants.

    The Government project eRobota includes grant programmes aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship and job creation. These include microgrants for starting or developing a business, grants for the creation and development of processing plants, and grants for planting orchards, viticulture, and greenhouses. Applications for all areas of the eRobota programme can be submitted through the Diia portal.
