Despite rising summer temperatures and increased strain on the grid, Ukraine’s energy system remains stable. All necessary balancing calculations have been made, drawing on last year’s experience. This was stated by Yurii Sheiko, First Deputy Minister of Energy.

“As of today, our energy system is fully balanced, and no power outages are occurring, except in settlements located in combat zones where substations and transmission lines are under attack,” he noted.

According to the First Deputy Minister, the situation this year is significantly better than last year, with additional capacity added to the system, increased available generation, and mechanisms in place to cover deficits during peak hours through electricity imports.

“We do not rule out potential risks, particularly due to ongoing hostilities, but based on the current situation, we see no such risks – the system is operating stably,” Yurii Sheiko emphasised.

He also highlighted that one of the key factors in maintaining a stable energy system was the prudent and rational use of electricity by consumers. Such a responsible approach helps reduce strain on the system and ensures the stability of the energy supply.
