On November 26, rescuers met the fifth H225 Super Puma helicopter with registration number 54, which Ukraine received as part of the creation of the aviation security system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It should be noted that the last time a French helicopter was received by the State Emergency Service at the end of January 2020. Unlike the previous three, it was additionally equipped for emergency rescue operations: winch equipment for lifting and a searchlight system for searching the ground in the dark.
All previously received helicopters were actively involved in the assigned tasks in 2020: during the elimination of large-scale fires in the Chornobyl Zone, Zhytomyr and Luhansk regions, during the aftermath of rain floods in the Carpathian region, for air medical service flights, as well as for shifts to ensure security during the local elections in Ukraine.
In total, the Intergovernmental Agreement between Ukraine and France envisages the receipt of 55 Airbus helicopters for the unified system of aviation security and civil protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
