Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 22 November 2023 15:22

Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko met with EBRD’s Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone and Managing Director of the Sustainable Infrastructure Group Nandita Parshad to discuss further cooperation in enhancing the resilience of the Ukrainian energy system.

The Minister thanked the EBRD for its support to Ukraine’s energy sector, including projects to build overhead power lines, modernise the transmission network and improve the reliability of substations.

German Galushchenko also noted the effectiveness of the AidEnergy digital platform for attracting and distributing aid to the energy sector, which was developed with EBRD support.

“We also appreciate the EBRD’s support in the process of reforming Ukraine’s energy sector. In its recent report, the European Commission recognised Ukraine’s progress in implementing energy reforms. We will continue on this path by implementing the REMIT law, completing the corporatisation process and integrating into European energy markets,” the Minister said.

The parties discussed cooperation to attract investors to localise the production of energy equipment in Ukraine and to create appropriate security conditions for the operation of relevant industrial clusters.
