Strengthening the strategic partnership with the United States, especially in the area of security, is one of the key priorities of Ukraine's Foreign Policy Strategy. This was stressed by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba at an online briefing.

"On November 10, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and I will hold a meeting of the Ukraine-US. Strategic Partnership Commission in Washington, where we will sign a new Strategic Partnership Charter," the Foreign Minister said.

Dmytro Kuleba stressed that the Commission will resume work after a break of several years and will become a driver for the development of the partnership between Ukraine and the United States. The leaders of the two countries, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joe Biden, agreed on this during talks on September 1 at the White House.

"Ukrainian diplomacy is systematically developing the achievements of the President's visit to Washington in September, during which Ukraine and the United States signed 20 mutually beneficial documents in the fields of economy, security and energy," Dmytro Kuleba said.

The Minister noted that the new Charter of Strategic Partnership meets the common challenges facing Ukraine and the United States and strengthens transatlantic unity.

"Washington's readiness for a qualitatively new stage of the strategic partnership shows that Ukraine enjoys the trust and is one of the key partners of the United States in Europe," the Minister stressed.

Dmytro Kuleba noted that the agenda of the Commission meeting will include issues of Ukraine's defense and counteraction to Russian aggression, economy, energy, investments, cybersecurity, fight against climate change, support of internal transformations in Ukraine.

"2021 will be a new starting point for relations between Ukraine and the United States. We have left behind a period of turbulence. We are now working systematically to strengthen and deepen our strategic partnership, ”he said.

The Foreign Minister noted the unprecedented intensity of contacts between Kyiv and Washington this year. The latest evidence is the talks between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Glasgow.

"Next week we will enshrine this new level of relations in the new Charter. This is another result of our systematic work," Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.

The Minister also noted that the economy is directly related to security. Therefore, strengthening cooperation with the United States is also a positive signal for investors and all those who want to invest in Ukraine, create jobs, develop long-term projects: "In the end, more investment in Ukraine means more jobs in our country, higher salaries".
