Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President Andriy Yermak held a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss preparations for the visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States and his upcoming meeting with the U.S. President Joe Biden on August 30th.
Officials affirmed that the meeting of Ukrainian and American leaders will further enhance the strategic partnership between our countries. The parties focused on further developing the Ukraine-U.S. security and defense partnership, strengthening democracy in the region and economic development of Ukraine, joint efforts to counter Russian military aggression against Ukraine and ways to strengthen the energy security of our country and the wider region.
Dmytro Kuleba underlined that while defending itself from the ongoing Russian aggression, Ukraine continues to implement difficult and systemic reforms, including the judiciary one.
The U.S. Secretary of State reassured of the unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine.
American top diplomat affirmed that the U.S. fully supports the Crimea Platform initiative.
