Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a phone conversation with US Senator, Member of Senate Ukrainian Caucus Joni Ernst.
The sides discussed US support of Ukraine's efforts to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening of the US-Ukraine strategic partnership, and counteracting to common threats in the Euro-Atlantic region.
“Clear bipartisan and bicameral congressional support of Ukraine is one of the most important instruments in deterring the Russian Federation from further aggression. We highly appreciate practical assistance of the US in developing defense capabilities of our country, as well as consolidation of international efforts to restore peace on the Ukrainian soil,” Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.
The Minister added that the Euro-Atlantic community will not be safe until the safety of Ukraine is restored. He emphasized that only coordinated efforts could help overcome the main sources of the common threats.
Dmytro Kuleba and Joni Ernst discussed the efforts to prevent the completion of Nord Stream-2 pipeline.
“Nord Stream-2 can damage energy security of both Ukraine and Europe and worsen the situation with diversification of energy delivery to European consumers. The implementation of this project gives Russia an opportunity to use energy as an additional tool of its hybrid war against the West,” the Minister said.
