A separated subdivision Energoatom-Trading has successfully sold all six lots that were put up for auction on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange platform- a total of 1,325,100 MWh of base load power in the trade zone of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU).
It became possible to auction off due to the Government's decision which enabled Energoatom to enter the market of bilateral contracts with Ukrainian industrials.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters placed a special emphasis on the fact that entry of Energoatom into the market of bilateral agreements will improve the company's financial situation.
"Giving a green light to Energoatom to sale its electricity at auctions is one of the government's steps to bring Ukraine's energy sector out of a protracted crisis. This is an increase in competition, as well as the financial recovery of the leading company of the Ukrainian generation - NNEGC "Energoatom", the Prime Minister said.
As a result of the six-hour auction, all six lots were sold at mutually beneficial market prices.
