Given the challenges facing Ukraine today, the Government, together with the President and the Verkhovna Rada, will further increase the budget for the Ukrainian Army, which is record for the current year, stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 23.

"In particular, we will increase salaries for the military, expenditures on territorial defense, programs for the modern weapons development," the Head of Government said.

The Prime Minister noted that following the meeting of the President of Ukraine with the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups the previous day, an agreement had been reached that the Verkhovna Rada would adopt the relevant bills within a few days.

At the same time, Denys Shmyhal stressed that the Armed Forces were provided with everything necessary, and the Ukrainian Army stood ready to repel the enemy at any moment.
