Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity: The State will fund cybersecurity training for 2,000 people with Group I and II disabilities

The Government is launching a pilot project under which the State will fund cybersecurity training for 2,000 people with Group I and II disabilities, including male and female veterans. The relevant decision was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The project was developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity. It will begin on 1 August 2026 and run for two years.

Fewer than 18% of people with Group I and II disabilities in Ukraine are currently employed. This includes male and female veterans who, after sustaining injuries, are returning to civilian life and need new opportunities for professional fulfilment.

According to Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity Denys Uliutin, alongside creating jobs for people with disabilities, it is important to provide access to modern professions.

“We deliberately chose cybersecurity because it combines strong demand for specialists, competitive pay and a wide range of working arrangements,” he said.

The project’s primary objective, and a mandatory condition for State funding, is to ensure participants with disabilities secure employment after completing the training. In addition, the project will provide psychological support to participants throughout the training period.

It is worth recalling that, during the Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with SHERIFF Cyber Academy.
