Denys Shmyhal and Ursula von der Leyen addressed prospects for sustained financing for Ukraine in 2026-2027

In Spain, on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Financing for Development, the Prime Minister of Ukraine met with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

The parties discussed sustainable financing of our country for 2026-2027 to support the economy and recovery.

Special attention was paid to the European integration issue.

“We expect to open negotiations on clusters this year,” said Denys Shmyhal.

He added that during the meeting the President of the European Commission had assured of the full support of the EU institutions for Ukraine's further progress in this direction.

The Head of Government also informed Ursula von der Leyen about the situation at the frontline and thanked her and the European Commission in general for the crucial support of Ukraine in the defense sector.
