Denys Shmyhal: A developed Ukrainian defence industry is one of the guarantees of our security

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed laws to launch the special legal regime Defence City.

The Defence City special legal regime provides a range of benefits for manufacturers of weapons and military equipment:

• Exemption from profit tax (provided profits are reinvested);
• Exemption from land and property taxes (if used in production);
• Exemption from environmental tax;
• Simplified customs procedures;
• Simplified regime for the international transfer of defence products;
• Relocation features and measures to enhance the protection of production facilities are supported by the state.

Defence industry manufacturers of strategic importance to the state’s defence capability and meeting transparency requirements will be able to openly join Defence City.

“We are creating even more favourable conditions for Ukrainian arms manufacturers. We act quickly and urge our producers to do the same. Our weapons are our smart strength,” emphasised Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal.
