On 23 May, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Alfred Kammer, Director of the IMF’s European Department, and the IMF mission in Kyiv.
“We appreciate this visit on the eve of the start of the mission’s work on the fourth review of the EFF programme, which will attract USD 2.2 billion. In total, Ukraine has received USD 8 billion from the IMF since the start of the full-scale invasion. The Fund is one of our three largest donors and maintains the framework of all assistance to Ukraine in the amount of more than USD 120 billion,” said Denys Shmyhal, thanking the IMF for its consistent support to Ukraine, which helped maintain economic stability in the face of the russian aggressor.
During the meeting, the parties coordinated joint actions in key areas of cooperation. Denys Shmyhal spoke about the Ukrainian Government’s efforts to confiscate frozen russian assets, plans to restore the energy sector, build a decentralised system and continue reforms.
The IMF representatives assured Ukraine that the Fund would remain a reliable partner in the future.
The Prime Minister thanked for the trust and support in these difficult times.
