Denys Shmyhal awarded sappers who engage in demining of the Chernihiv region

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, during a working trip to Chernihiv region on July 13, awarded representatives of the staff of the consolidated pyrotechnic squad of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, who perform the task of demining the region.

"The russian invaders do not hesitate in their efforts to destroy Ukrainians, so they even mine children's toys. Today, Ukrainian pyrotechnicians and sappers have become an integral part of the return of life in the liberated territories. Thank you for your professional work!" noted the Prime Minister.

In total, 70 employees of the State Emergency Service and 27 items of equipment were involved in the works in Chernihiv region. In addition to the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service, the demining units of the Danish Refugee Council work in the Prylutsky district.

In total, since February 24, sappers have removed and cleared 159,000 explosive items (including 2,000 aerial bombs) across Ukraine, surveyed and demined an area of 64,000 hectares.
