During a regular meeting on March 31, the Government has approved a draft law aimed at improving the employment conditions of people with disabilities.
According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the document contains a proposal to introduce an incentive tool to make employers more interested in employing people with disabilities.
"Everyone should have barrier-free access to the workplace. It is critical to ensure that all people can take part in the economic life of the country," the Prime Minister stressed.
According to the Prime Minister, the initiative resonates with the draft National Strategy for the Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, which was developed within the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
"This is a truly European project aimed to ensure equal conditions and opportunities for all people in all spheres of life," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Cabinet of Ministers also approved a resolution that will help improve access to social services for people with disabilities.
"This decision will make the process of receiving compensation for gasoline, repair and maintenance of cars for people with disabilities or their legal representatives easier. In particular, the procedure for submitting documents for the appointment of such benefits is simplified through the introduction of an electronic office of a person with a disability," said the Prime Minister.
