In 2021, a subvention of UAH 150 million will be allocated from the state budget to local budgets for the creation of educational and practical centers of modern vocational education. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told in his opening statement at the session of the Government March 31.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that there should be more educational and practical centers in Ukraine, and most importantly, that they be innovative and provide students with modern skills. Thus, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the decision, which improves the procedure and conditions for granting the relevant subvention.

"Investing in human capital is one of the best investments a state can make. Therefore, this year we have increased the budget of the Ministry of Education and Science by 25%, and therefore we will continue to actively invest in the quality of education of our children," said the Head of Government.

According to the Prime Minister, the funds will be transferred to the places so that communities can use them to develop those specialties that will be most relevant in the labor market within a particular region.

"This is a win-win situation, when everyone wins: the community actually creates orders through vocational education institutions in one direction or another, the employer will receive well-trained staff, entrants will have a guaranteed job," said Denys Shmyhal.
