Denys Shmyhal: Government has allocated and allocates full funding to all social obligations
Since the beginning of the year, UAH 231 billion has been allocated for pension payments, which is 12% more than last year. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Government meeting on May 31.
According to the Head of Government, in March, despite the war, payments were indexed for almost all Ukrainian pensioners. In total, since the beginning of the russian invasion, pensions of over UAH 140 billion have been paid.
"The Government has allocated and allocates full funding to all social obligations. In addition, we have launched additional support programs for the most vulnerable citizens. Millions of food packages are distributed free of charge on the front lines to help our citizens in these difficult conditions, said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government has fully continued to finance other social programs. In particular, subsidies, assistance to large families, people with disabilities, single parents.
"During these three months, UAH 30 billion was actually allocated from the budget for the relevant programs. It is a question of support from the state for almost 6 million Ukrainians ", the Head of the Government emphasized.
Denys Shmyhal also noted that the program to support internally displaced persons has been active since April. For this tea, almost 1.5 million families received state aid totaling UAH 10 billion.
"Due to the effective cooperation of the Cabinet of Ministers and international organizations, we managed to launch 5 more programs to support internally displaced persons. These are programs with the UN, UNICEF, the Red Cross. They are similar in principle to government programs and provide for payments of UAH 2.2-2.5,000 for the most vulnerable categories of citizens, "said the Prime Minister.
According to the PM, Ukraine managed to reach an agreement on financing all these programs worth more than UAH 10 billion to support more than 2 million Ukrainian citizens.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government continues to finance the medical and educational spheres as much as possible. Over the past three months alone, teachers have been paid more than UAH 25 billion.
"In May, payments increased to UAH 10.4 billion, while in April they amounted to UAH 8.3 billion. More than UAH 25 billion was also paid to doctors' salaries in March-May,” the Head of Government said.
Denys Shmyhal also thanked the international partners who provide financial support to Ukraine so that the state can fully fulfill all its social and humanitarian obligations.
