During the first six months of the President's of Ukraine "Affordable Mortgage 7%" program, loans worth more than UAH 650 million were issued. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
During a meeting of the Government on September 8, a decision was made to merge the State Mortgage Institution (SMI) and the Ukrainian Financial Housing Company (UFHC).
"After the merger is completed, we are preparing to issue government bonds worth up to UAH 20 billion so that mortgage programs are available to as many Ukrainians as possible. All these products will help Ukrainian families to finally have an opportunity to buy their own apartments under the affordable mortgages program, as is the case in developed countries," said the Prime Minister.
UFHC was established at the end of 2020 as a joint-stock company to develop and implement a mechanism for affordable mortgages and leasing programs.
