Creating a free, fair and transparent competitive environment is a key prerequisite for economic growth and investment flows. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during an online event Reforms for Investment in Ukraine. The meeting is part of the preparations for the 5th International Ukraine Reform Conference due to take place in Lugano, Switzerland, this year.
The event was opened by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis. Representatives of the business community and international partners of Ukraine also joined the discussion.
According to the Head of Ukrainian Government, in 2021 there was adopted the National Economic Strategy until 2030 which had been developed together with hundreds of experts and business representatives in various fields.
"Implementation of the strategy will unlock the potential of Ukraine in the next 10 years in such sectors as industry, agriculture, information technology and innovation, infrastructure and domestic transport, energy," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister stressed that the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU also helps to attract investment to Ukraine.
"Ukraine remains fully committed to the Association Agreement, which is a roadmap for reform and the basis for our country's integration into the EU internal market, including the free movement of services, persons, goods and capital. Currently, we are actively cooperating with the EU in the fields of green transformation, digitalization, energy, transport," Denys Shmyhal summed up.
