Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal named three priorities regarding sanctions pressure on russia
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called to forget about a business-as-usual with russia during a security dialogue on the sidelines of the International Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is being held in Lugano, Switzerland. The event was also attended by the President of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, heads of government, and representatives of international organizations.
"The civilized world should forget about business-as-usual with russia. The security of the European continent is inextricably linked with Ukraine. Today, the history of modern Europe is being written in Ukraine," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.
Denys Shmyhal named three priorities on which Ukraine offers its partners to focus regarding strengthening the sanctions pressure on the russian federation.
These include the targeting of sectoral sanctions on energy, finance and trade, the introduction of new personal sanctions against oligarchs, senior civil servants and heads of state-owned enterprises, as well as the closing of loopholes for circumvention of restrictions by russia.
"The confiscation of frozen russian assets to be used for the recovery of Ukraine remains an extremely urgent issue. We count on the approval of the relevant changes to the legislation by the partners," the Prime Minister emphasized.
