The National COVID-19 Preventive Vaccination Plan until December 31, 2021 provides for the extension and raising of the status of the vaccination roadmap, which was developed by the Ministry of Health. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the Government meeting on April 7.

The Cabinet of Ministers heard a report of the Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov on the National COVID-19 Preventive Vaccination Plan by the end of the year.

According to the Head of Government, the updated document was developed in pursuance of a decree of the President of Ukraine and a decision of the National Security and Defense Council.

"The document will make it possible to speed up the process of vaccination against coronavirus in our country," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister also noted that a contract had been announced yesterday with Pfizer/BioNTech for the supply of 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

"In general, the Government and the manufacturers have contracted a sufficient amount of safe vaccines to immunize everyone this year. We are talking about more than 50% of the entire adult population of Ukraine," the Head of Government stressed.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that the pandemic can be overcome only through mass vaccination and effective quarantine measures.
